It is widely documented that the first owner of Riva Aquarama # 3 was the Great Diva Sophia Loren, who became its owner in 1963, in fact it was delivered to her in Rome on March 11th 1963 by the Riva Boat Center of Fiumicino. In the Riva production, the first Aquarama was in 1962 the Tritone #214 ‘Lipicar’, consequently the list of Aquaramas starts from # 2. The # 2 and # 3 are the only ones that still have their sides in planks and are identical to those of the Tritone series of 1963, they are 8.02 m. long and 2.60 m. wide and the engines are two Chris-Craft mod. 283 with V8 cylinders of 185 HP. The Aq #3 has all the upholstery in light ivory vipla, as Sophia wanted it and exceptionally Ing. Riva agreed to produce (as paper available signed by Ing. Carlo Riva), unlike the other Aquaramas of the first series with upholstery in black and ivory vipla with orange profiles and mats. The Aq #3 ex Sophia Loren is visible by appointment on Lake Garda and available for sale, restored in the mid-90s and in 2007, is still preserved in good condition and well working, the engines are matching number. E’ ampiamente documentato che il primo proprietario del Riva Aquarama #3 fu la Grande Diva Sophia Loren, che ne diventò l'armatrice nel 1963, infatti le venne consegnato a Roma l’11 Marzo 1963 dal Riva Boat Center di Fiumicino. Nella produzione Riva, il primo Aquarama era stato nel 1962 il Tritone #214 ‘Lipicar’, di conseguenza l'elenco degli Aquarama parte dal #2. Il #2 e il #3 sono gli unici scafi ad avere ancora le murate in fasciame e sono identici a quelli della serie Tritone del 1963, sono lunghi m.8,02 e larghi m.2,60 e i motori sono due Chris-Craft mod. 283 con 8 cilindri a V da 185 HP. Il Aq#3 ha tutte le tappezzerie in vipla colore avorio chiaro, come lo volle Sophia ed eccezionalmente l’Ing. Riva accettò di realizzare (come da dichiarazione a firma Ing. Carlo Riva disponibile), a differenza degli altri Aquarama della prima serie con rivestimento dei sedili in vipla nera e avorio con i profili e materassini arancioni. Il Aq#3 ex Sophia Loren è visibile su appuntamento sul lago di Garda e disponibile per la vendita, restaurato a metà degli anni 90 e nel 2007, è tuttora conservato in buone condizioni e ben funzionante, i motori sono matching number. Malu’ is a rare  and excellent example of a vintage yacht in perfect conditions. She was designed by Sparkman& Stephens and built at the highest standards under the direct survey of the RINA director of Livorno harbor. After a life as cruiser racer Malu’ received the most accurate and respectfull restoration and she is better than ever. Sailing Malu’ is just like diving in the past and her elegant lines and details are highlighted by new rigging, new sails, new engine and systems, new closets and interior furniture and new tapestry.The hull was completely emptied to provide a general refit and to protect her from the risk of osmosis (she had no osmosis anyway) the hull was treated with epoxy resin. The restoration was surveyed by one of the best known Italian expert, and in our experience of hundreds classic yachts to offer to demanding customers we have been amazed reading his survey.
