Il Phono Box II è la sintesi della filosofia aziendale.. un entry level capace di buone/ottime performance per il suo costo per un uso non eccessivamente impegnativo. Ne sono stati venduti migliaia.... Gestisce sia Magneti Mobili (MM) che Bobine Mobili (MC) ed il solo concedersi alla bassa uscita delle testine MC a costi irrisori ne fa un campione assoluto. Suona benino, ha un timbro asciutto ed abbastanza neutro con discreta estensione ed è anche abbastanza trasparente.... per un uso non eccessivamente critico è assolutamente appagante. Se avete giradischi e testine da migliaia di euro cercate altro.. Ottimo invece per chi deve ovviare alla mancanza di uscita Phono dal proprio ampli senza avere pretese High End. Per inciso è paragonabile e anche superiore a diversi stadi Phono MM presenti in tanti amplificatori passati e... presenti.. (Colleziono da 40 anni) Tecnicamente è molto ben costruito, solido con componentistica di buon livello quasi totalmente discreta ed una circuitazione semplice che agevola la sonorità finale. Esteticamente, infine, è gradevolissimo come tutti i prodotti della serie coeva che a mio avviso resta la più riuscita della casa. Per quello che costa è una vera delizia ! Consigliato vivamente....! Munito di serie con telecomando, griglia coprivalvole, imballo originale e libretto di istruzioni. Un anno e mezzo di vita, pari al nuovo, usato ma non molto! Icon Audio Ltd. è una piccola azienda situata in Leicester (UK), che si dedica interamente alla progettazione e produzione di amplificatore a valvole ed apparecchi hi-fi, esaltando i suoni 'vintage' di stile britannico e statunitense. DESCRIZIONE UFFICIALE: Se sei alla ricerca dell'ultima parola in fatto di alta definizione e dolcezza, con potenza contenuta, la 2A3 è la valvola ideale. La valvola 2A3 è un vero triodo, nato sette anni prima della WE 300B (datata 1937). Quando si progetta un amplificatore, non si tratta solo di usare buoni componenti, ma di ottenere la "sinergia" giusta, e quindi fare in modo che la musica non risulti meccanica o artificiosa. In questo senso, consideriamo l' ST40-2A3 uno degli amplificatori più "musicali" e facili da ascoltare che abbiamo mai realizzato! Una dichiarazione audace, ma siamo sicuri che sarete d'accordo. L'amplificatore Icon Audio ST40-2A3 non possiede numerose e particolari valvole di segnale, pertanto i costi di gestione sono contenuti dovendo limitarsi quasi solo alle valvole di potenza 2A3, che tendono a costare meno rispetto alle più quotate 300B. Un vero amplificatore "High End" può essere prodotto e gestito ad un prezzo ragionevole e senza compromessi tra qualità e costo. Il telaio base della nostra nuova serie Stereo 40 è esattamente ciò di cui un vero ascoltatore potrebbe aver bisogno, esso integra trasformatori di alimentazione e di uscita progettati su specifiche. Le valvole 6SL7 e 6SN7 possiedono esattamente le caratteristiche che stavamo cercando (un suono più "liquido" rispetto ai modelli di ECC più piccole), essendo anche più robuste e durevoli. Una valvola raddrizzatrice 274B (la valvola centrale) contribuisce a fornire lo sfondo sonoro nero e silenzioso. La generosa alimentazione impiega 8 grandi condensatori nella tradizionale configurazione a â€Å"Pi”.
