RUTER VODAFONE STATION FUNZIONANTE COMPLETA DI TUTTO MAI USATA

Vodafone ha di recente presentato la Vodafone Station 2, ovvero il nuovo Home Gateway wireless evoluto, con Internet Key integrata, fornito in dotazione con gli abbonamenti Solo ADSL, Solo telefono, ADSL e Telefono e ADSL e Telefono Senza Limiti delle nuove offerte Internet e telefono del provider, in promozione online In sostanza la Vodafone Station 2 altro non è che la nuova versione della Vodafone Station, ovvero un modem-router Wi-Fi, ma con importanti innovazioni in termini di caratteristiche e funzionalità rispetto al precedente. Quello che risulta subito evidente è il nuovo ed accattivante design della Vodafone Station 2 (vedi foto), che presenta nella parte anteriore un ampio display LCD a colori da 3.2 pollici sul quale vengono visualizzate 6 icone, corrispondenti alle varie e originali funzionalità del rinnovato Home Gateway di Vodafone. Oltre a nuove funzioni, il rinnovamento ha riguardato soprattutto il potenziamento del Wi-Fi (interfaccia IEEE 802.11 b/g e 802.11 n) e la semplificazione nella gestione delle operazioni consentite. La Vodafone Station 2 permette di navigare in Internet su linea ADSL fino a 7 Mbit/s in download e 832 Kbps in uplink, anche se la velocità degli abbonamenti Internet di Vodafone per lâ€(TM)upload arriva attualmente fino a 512 Kbps per tutte le offerte, considerando eventuali riduzioni dovute alla capacità e al grado di congestione della rete, oltre che al server a cui ci si collega. Questo modem-router wireless supporta reti in standard ADSL e ADSL2+ e supporta vari sistemi operativi, da quelli di Microsoft per pc (da Windows 2000 SP4 alle varie edizioni di Windows 7) a quelli di Apple per i vari MacBook (Tiger 10.4.10 e Leopard 10.5) e PowerBook (versione G4 con Tiger 10.X e Panther 10.3.9). La compatibilità è importante per il software di gestione della Vodafone Station 2, che può essere installato su PC e Mac per una più semplice gestione delle funzionalità di questo Home Gateway Wi-Fi evoluto. Il software è presente sul CD autoinstallante fornito, incluso nella confezione consegnata al domicilio del cliente, che contiene, oltre al modem Vodafone Station 2, anche una Vodafone Internet Key con una SIM da inserire per collegarsi ad Internet in mobilità e in attesa dellâ€(TM)attivazione del collegamento ADSL, un trasformatore per il collegamento alla presa elettrica, 1 filtro ADSL, 1 cavo per la connessione alla presa telefonica, 1 cavo per la connessione al computer, 1 cavo per la connessione al telefono fisso e 1 adattatore tripolare per il collegamento alla presa del telefono tradizionale. Infatti, sul lato sinistro troviamo una porta USB 2.0 e il tasto Wi-Fi, per attivare o disattivare rapidamente le funzionalità di navigazione Internet wireless. Nella parte posteriore troviamo, in alto, lâ€(TM)alloggiamento in cui inserire la VIK (Vodafone Internet Key), dotata di una spia luminosa che può assumere colore verde, a indicare che la connessione è di tipo GPRS (si può telefonare o navigare alternativamente), oppure colore blu, corrispondente a una connessione 3G (si può navigare e telefonare contemporaneamente). Nella parte bassa, da sinistra verso destra, si trovano: · 1 connettore RJ-11 di colore rosso, nel quale inserire il cavo fornito per la connessione alla presa telefonica · 2 connettori RJ-11 di colore giallo, nei quali inserire il cavo fornito per la connessione a uno o più telefoni fissi · 4 porte Ethernet, delle quali quella più a destra è ad alta velocità (in caso di abbonamento fino a 20MB in download), per collegare uno o più computer attraverso un cavo di rete · 1 porta USB 2.0 · 1 presa nella quale inserire lâ€(TM)alimentatore per il collegamento elettrico · 1 tasso ON/OFF per lâ€(TM)accensione e lo spegnimento Si diceva delle 6 icone presenti sul display della Vodafone Station 2, situato nella parte frontale. Tutte queste porte, oltre al collegamento wireless, possono essere sfruttare per collegare alla Vodafone Station 2, ad esempio, una stampante, per stampare da qualsiasi PC, anche da remoto, oppure un Hard Disk portatile, collegando il quale si creerà in automatico una spazio per salvare vari tipi di formato di file, consultabili anche se si è fuori casa. Eâ€(TM) anche possibile collegare la TV Solution di Vodafone, sfruttandone appieno le potenzialità. Relativamente al Wi-Fi può essere interessante sapere che vengono offerte cifrature WPA-PSK/WPA-PSK 2 e WEP, con chiavi di accesso rispettivamente a 256 bit e 128 bit. Inoltre la Vodafone Station 2 svolge funzionalità di DHCP server, includendo anche quelle di routing quali NAT, NAPT e altre di ultima generazione. Il firmware risulta essere aggiornabile da remoto, mentre la configurazione e la gestione in locale possono essere fatte attraverso unâ€(TM)interfaccia locale web based, ovvero accedendo alla stessa tramite Internet.
