With the ICE 52, Italian designer Umberto Felci created a spectacular concept that was realised by the shipyard using a combination of high-tech manufacturing techniques and traditional boatbuilder's craftsmanship. The deck is made of carbon fibre sandwich, the hull and strongback were created in hybrid construction in carbon fibre and glass fibre. They were laminated in vacuum-infusion using epoxy resins. A CNC-milled, T-shaped composite keel with Weldox steel fin and lead bulb as well as a carbon fibre rudder blade were used as appendixes. This exclusive package is rounded off with a Southern Spars high modulus carbon fibre mast, standing rigging in carbon fibre rods by MaxSpar and a carbon fibre V-boom.
