This is not a role for just a pure software test engineer but also for an embedded software engineer because you will have to develop applications for satellite simulator and test environment. You will become part of a growing software Verification and Validation (V&V) group responsible for ensuring software quality across a range of embedded and high performance applications in space. The main objective of your work will be developing test environments setup and designing and developing of HIL satellite simulator, improving the V&V infrastructure to enable the simulation of new sensors and actuators. The job will also focus on automated test procedures for the flight software of avionic platforms used on board of our spacecrafts under development. Within a continuous integration environment, you will contribute to the entire application lifecycle with a focus on the test and integration, improving and developing new V&V features to our SW delivery pipeline. Through these activities and by working with the all technical teams involved in the spacecraft development process you will deliver exciting new features and directly support on-going spacecraft V&V activities and operations. D-Orbit is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to become part of the Project Technical Leadership (PLE) team. As a PLE, you will be accountable of all the technical project deliverables, technical management and team leadership. You will be part of the Engineering team, composed of multiple disciplines (AOCS, EE, mechanical, propulsion, thermal, software, etc.), and will lead them to achieve the project objectives including design and development, procurement coordination and assembly-integration-testing of flight-qualified spacecrafts, such as the ION Satellite Carrier Vehicle, and the design of new advanced missions. Your ultimate objective as a systems engineer is to ensure your systems, the spacecraft, will fly safely to orbit, deliver the services required by mission objectives and eventually successfully accomplish its disposal. Main Duties will consist of: - Single accountable of the technical project responsibilities, objectives, milestones and deliverables. - Coordinate other project team engineers, following and consolidating the end-to-end design and development cycle of the systems platforms, starting the requirements capture and consolidating requirements as development progresses, trade-off analysis, systems architecture and design definition, definition of the verification and test campaign, test plan and procedures, supervising execution of the tests on first prototypes and final requirements compliance assessment. - Liaise with the Program Manager to contribute with technical planning and management task. - Coordinate with the Procurement team to support in the procurement process of test and flight parts. - Coordinate with the manufacturing team and the AIV team for the definition of the test plan, procedures, setup and execution, monitor AIV progresses and maintain the requirement compliance matrix updated accordingly. - Interface with the Flight Operations team to support the definition of the detailed ConOps, mission timeline, operations plan definition and procedures, and provide active support during the first flight operations. Tasks and Responsibilities: - Technical responsible for the overall spacecraft or mission. - Actively contribute and monitor the development of systems architecture and subsystems design. - Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of specialists working on the systems and s/s design. - Systems and subsystems budgeting. - Requirements capturing & management from Stakeholder to equipment level. - AIV plan definition and execution with the support of the AIV team. - Support the systems test plan, procedures, and setup definition. - Authoring of Technical documents. Professional Experience & Required Technical Skills: - We are interested in speaking to people with a minimum of five years of experience working in the field of Spacecraft design and development. - Experience in Institutional projects with ESA, ASI or other agencies. - Knowledge of ECSS/NASA standards. - Strong knowledge of Space Systems Engineering and Space Systems Architectures. - Good knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems, with at least one in depth. - Experience in the definition of systems budgets and trade-off analyses. - Experience in satellite verification and validation approaches. - Experience in planning and management task. - Experience in procurement processes. - Experience in requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS or Jama. - Basic knowledge of software development and configuration management, e.g. GIT or Bitbucket. - MS office and MS Project Nice-to-have skills: - Experience in Mission Analysis and usage of dedicated tools (e.g., STK, GMAT) - Working experience in space transportation and servicing applications. - Experience in carrying out tests in relevant space contexts (e.g., functional testing on EM, environmental test campaigns). - Experience in launch campaign activities and interfacing with launch providers. - Programming skills. - Experience in MBSE. Education: - University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering. Language: This role requires professional proficiency in English. On behalf of our client we are seeking the services of an experienced Java Technical Leader who will lead the development and deployment of a set of our application related to a portfolio of our products. As Java Technical Leader, you will take the lead of a development team which is in charge of developing, testing and deploying a set of application related to a portfolio of our products. The team is composed of 16 developers working on 3 Agile Scrum streams. You will participate with the Product Owner and the Scrum Master to the development roadmap of these application and will lead the team in an Agile mindset to execute this roadmap. you will be responsible for: Provide support (non-functional requirements, architecture, capacity) to Product Owner to elaborate product roadmap Lead the Development team regarding architectural and technical choices Align the technical dependencies of the 3 Scrum streams Owns the Technical and technological stack for its product Programming languages, frameworks, data storages, libraries, monitoring solutions…) Software development and deployment automation (CI/CD frameworks – Git, Jenkins, Ansible…) Technical documentation Owns the Software development methodology Align effort with velocity Drive the definition and estimation of the tasks Drive the scope of an iteration (allow for CRs, manage Bugs, manage impediment…) Challenge and improve the operation of the team, improving their performance and capabilities. Be the Application Owner of applications developed by his team Ensure cost effective and qualitative Architecture and solution Ensure maintenance with his team of its application Manage Capacity of his development teams People management Your skills: You have a proven experience of at least 5 years as a SW Technical Leader. This experience covers a.o. following technical skills: 5+ years experience of software development and support of complex J2EE applications Experience in managing a SW development team (international experience is a plus) Previous practical experience with JIRA, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus/Artifactory Previous practical experience with Ansible, Docker, Linux, Spring Boot, ReactJS is an advantage Proven experience in an Agile Scrum framework Good knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) processes and methodology Strong analytical and communicative skills Strong people management skills Experience in working with distributed teams. Your Profile: Good problem solving skills and analytical mind-set You’re fast and eager learner English (very good in reading, writing, speaking) is a must Computer Sciences, IT, or comparable. Length: 3-6 months + possible extensions. Location: Home working whilst offices is closed due to the pandemic then onsite in Brussels and will require frequent travel to Ukraine.
